The Communications Module is only available if the PDMP has it enabled.
Clinicians can only edit Care Notes they have added. PDMP Administrators can also edit Care Notes, if deemed necessary. |
To edit a Care Note, a user must have either generated a new Patient Report or view a previously created Patient Report. For additional information on creating or viewing a Patient Report, please refer to the Performing a Patient Request (Patient Search) or Viewing Patient Reports help articles.
In the Care Notes section of the page, locate the note needing editing, keeping in mind Care Notes created by other clinicians cannot be edited.
Click the Actions drop-down menu and select Edit Note.
The Edit Care Note window is displayed.
Edit the Care Note, as necessary.
Once editing is complete, select the reason for editing the Care Note in the Reason for Edit field. Add any additional comments regarding the edit in the Additional Comments field and click Save.
If Other is selected as the reason for a Care Note edit, the Additional Comments field must be completed. |
Any edits made are saved, and the Care Note will be updated immediately to the patient’s record.
Any edited Care Notes are indicated with [Edited] next to the Care Note description in a user's inbox.
Click View Edits to view the Care Note’s edit history. The edit history is only viewable by the clinician the created and edited the Care Note and/or the PDMP Administrator.
If the Care Note has been edited multiple times, clicking View History of Edits will display the entire edit history.
